We have 23 spacious bedrooms all with their own private ensuite wet room, 18 of which have inset ceiling track hoists with removable motors for flexibility.
Four of these bedrooms make up a Transitional Living Unit with a shared open plan lounge and fully accessible kitchen, pictured here. There is also an Independent Living Apartment with accessible kitchen available to allow a trial of independent or assisted living before returning home.
Making the transition from hospital to home after a life-changing event can be daunting. It can mean adapting to huge changes, new ways of managing day to day routines and life skills such as getting washed and dressed or preparing meals, through to a change in more meaningful roles such as education, being a partner, parenting or returning to work.
Our rehabilitation team will work with you to maximise your recovery, adapt to these changes and support you to return to the appropriate community setting with the right follow up and support. We take a 24hr approach to your rehabilitation supporting you with activities of daily living based sessions to support your progression to 24hr routine of self-care, household management, and social/community engagement and return to work.
All of the bedrooms are spread over the upper two floors together with:
- a ‘Craft Hub’
- games room with pool/football table and a bar
- skills kitchen
- lounge/music room with a baby grand piano
- treatment room
On the ground floor we have:
- a large fully equipped rehabilitation gym
- café providing a great space to eat and socialise
- our very own hair and beauty salon to help keep you looking your best!
There are beautiful outdoor areas with our own kitchen garden and greenhouse. There are quiet areas to sit in and paths with access for everyone to enjoy the whole garden. The river Sheaf runs along two sides of the garden so we will also have the benefit of listening to the relaxing sound of the river.
