After substantial seed investment from the directors by way of equity and loan capital and a generous Regional Growth Fund grant from Sheffield City Council, STEPS Rehabilitation opened at the beginning of May 2017.
A brief timeline:
- Land purchase, a brownfield site, completed September 2015.
- Construction commenced February 2016.
- Construction finished April 2017.
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration received 26 April.
- Opened 2 May.
Our main assets are our people and our state-of-the-art, high specification building, which has cost over £5m and been financed by a mixture of equity and debt capital.
We are already thinking about expansion opportunities and so would be happy to hear from anyone interested in talking to us about our plans going forward.
We are not only interested in talking to people about financial partnerships but also about co-operation in many other creative ways which sharpen our vision and get us closer to our goal of being a ‘centre of excellence’ in the field of neurological rehabilitation. We have already engaged with Sheffield Hallam and Sheffield University, both of whom are keen to undertake joint research with us. This opportunity to work together, investing in both STEPS staff and university students, has the potential to even further enhance STEPS rehabilitation programmes, utilising the most innovative and cutting edge rehabilitation equipment and techniques.
Because STEPS is an innovative company we want to explore emerging rehabilitation development opportunities. We would therefore be happy to talk to other parties, e.g. equipment manufacturers and researchers, about joint programmes to pilot new ideas.
Please email or call our Chairman, Ray Boulger, on 07977 277431 or our Clinical Director, Toria Chan, on 07554 161914, as appropriate, to explore opportunities.
